Chuckles and Chortles

Happy Monday, my friends. How's everyone? What did you do this weekend? In house stuff, I did absolutely nothing. Zip. Zero. I took some time off and it was wonderful. I'd like to say it was all voluntary but that would be a lie. I actually hurt my back Friday morning and that was the end of my household adventures. That's what you get when you forget that you're not 25 anymore and push yourself a little too hard. But Friday wasn't all that bad because in the evening we were here:

If anyone guessed that we drove to Ottawa to see baby girl playing on stage at a university-based pub with her band - DING DING DING - you are right! Here is another photo of her singing as she plays her bass guitar:

Isn't she adorable? She and her two bandmates have done a few shows around the city and they are having a blast. We decided to go and see them play and like a proud mama I took photos and shot some videos. I was the only one doing that and after the show my daughter said "You were acting like such a mom." I was. It's my job. The other thing is that the most amazing man in the world and I were the only 'old' folks in a pub full of young'uns. Did we care? No. The most amazing man in the world said that "you reach a certain age where you're not intimidated by anything anymore." Oh, yeah.

Now, let's get to the funny stuff, shall we?

Have a good one!

  5. That last one about the cats is a hoot! But as always, your "funnies" are ALL funny.

I'm sorry to hear about your back. I hope it's something simple like a pulled muscle that will go away with rest. Take care of yourself.

  7. Ice (20 minutes). Heat (20 minutes). Alternate. In the meantime you can make a long list of Honey-do's for Mr. Wonderful!

It sucks not being 25 when there is work to be done but it sucks more when your body is reminding you that you are not 25!

  16. As parents we get a lump in the throat when we see our kids perform. My son was in the army and I saw him perform in various capacities. I like to see performing artists doing their thing. More people should go to things that are out of their comfort level.

    1. I have caught up with all your posts, and I read them with great interest, Martha. Moving is so much work! When we moved into our current home, I remember thinking that I had at least one million things to do before I got everything done.

Like you, I can't bear grime, and my kitchen has to be spotless (Well the whole house, but especially the kitchen and bathrooms!). That's why I was so upset in the first trailer we rented in Arizona. It's was so dirty, and I spent hours a day scouring it because I can't stand a place that needs to be cleaned. Kudos to you for taking a little time off right now and for pacing yourself during the process of moving.

My Terry is longing to move to Arizona, and we'll be checking it out in April. I'm hoping he'll realize that the grass isn't greener, and he's hoping I'll see that it is. LOL

Poor little Nacho. I'm sorry the move was so scary for him and for Mocha too. But they'll be fine after a while. But they may run if you show up with a carrier.

We've been traveling so much this year and living with very few things. It is amazing to think how much stuff we don't need! I hope your internet connectivity issues sort out. That's been my biggest frustration during recent months. Take care, my friend! Sending you a big hug and lots of energy!

    2. The bathroom and the kitchen are two rooms that have to be clean for me. I always start there and move onto the others when I'm satisfied that they're in decent shape.

Arizona! What a beautiful place that is. I'm so curious to see what will happen with that. It could go either way, right? Keep an open mind!

You are so right, Louise, about how little we actually need. A lot of our stuff is still in boxes and I haven't missed a thing. I've already got a box of donations going and will keep adding to it as we move along. This is a great time for us to keep streamlining!
