Chuckles and Chortles

Happy new week, my friends! What's up? How's everyone? Is the weather nice where you live? You're probably as tired of hearing about it as I am mentioning it but the rain continues here. Does anyone have some sunshine to spare? I'll trade you some rain.

There is nothing going on and a lot going on at the same time. Does that make any sense? I'm sure some of you will understand. We are moving forward with the renovations on our home, albeit slowly. I've been taking pictures of all the changes along the way and eventually I will share the before and after of each room.

I don't have much else to say at the moment but will try to post again later this week. For now, here are a few images that I hope will make you laugh. Enjoy and have a great day!

    1. We've actually had some sun this week. It's blinding. HAHA But even so, there's still been quite a bit of rain.

    1. Unfortunately, not yet! I'm not sure we're going to see any of them right when they air. We might watch the whole season later on. We'll see.

  5. Funnies. I love the blender one. We share our sense of humour Martha! :) Can I complain more about the rain??? I should have been named Sun I think, I feel like I'm jinxing the skies these days lol...thunderstorm risks and 38 degree humidex, lovely mix isn't it? I know how much energy we are wasting but we have two a/c's running at the moment. The huskies can't handle that heat, they're made for winter!

    1. That is so true! I read that somewhere about the huskies. There was a time that I considered getting a dog and a husky was my number one choice, so I had done some research on them. They handle the hold a lot better than the heat!

We had a terrible spring this year and so far summer hasn't been any better. Even when it's sunny, you have some rain coming down some days. Out of nowhere. Very bizarre. I hope the weather improves and we have a nice august, and a beautiful autumn. That would be great.

  7. OMG. 'Dad' sounds like my dad. He once told us that he was so poor when they were growing up that if he didn't wake up with an erection on Christmas morning then he wouldn't have anything to play with!

  9. I brought you on a date and you left with your mother--that is so funny. I also like the library card "checking out" the books. We continue to have a thunderstorm almost every afternoon.

    Love,

  10. Those are cute. I should copy the book one for the librarian in my town. I can't wait to see before and after photos, I love renovations.

    1. Renovations are fun...when someone else is doing them! LOL Actually, I don't mind and they can be fun. But at this point I'm looking forward to them coming to an end. It's been much too long.

  12. Loved the banana tight rope walking. I do look forward to when you share your before/after pictures :) We are in monsoon season here. So far not much rain, but tons of humidity. I don't think you want the sticky heat although at times it is filled with sunshine. Doing lots of overtime at work so that is what is keeping me pretty busy these days.

    1. That is tough, Betty. Humidity can be quite exhausting. But it is July, after all.

  16. I'm thinking Justin's not the only one who left with his mother - unless it was a very intimate time on the town.

Martha, I'm sending some heat. We've had weather in the 100s for several weeks. I'll happily take some of your rain.

Be well and keep a smile.

  18. Hey dear Martha!

Thank you for sending me some of your rain as last night it reached with thunder and lightning. Rained madely and I got it that it is from forign because our's doesn't make noise and falls miserly .
Excited to see you before and after pics as I know you are quit expert in artistic handling of your lenses

  19. Hey Martha,

Yep, it only took me until very early Saturday morning to finally get to your blog. Some good giggles happening here. The first photo certainly embraces irony, eh.

We've been having some oppressively hot weather over here in the UK. But, as of right now at just gone two in the morning, we're having a major rainstorm. Thanks for sending it here :)

    1. You're welcome, Gary! Perhaps that's why we've had a little less rain. Some of my blogging pals are putting our excess to good use :)

Hope you are doing well and your weekend is a good one!

  20. I'm back! So sorry for my lengthy absence. I absolutely understand your comment about nothing going on but a lot going on. I have had weeks of being busy with our remodeling but a lot of it not worth talking about (or at least others would find of interest)

I would gladly share some sunshine with you. Kansas has been hotter than Hades for the last 6 weeks or so. We finally got some rain this week but then it came in a deluge and flash flooding became the new problem. The sun and heat are making their return today.

That last joke of the FB conversation is historical.
